paysafecard: Funding an Account Without a Bank in Sight

A prepaid voucher is the bluntest budgeting tool a gambling platform accepts. Whatever the code is worth is exactly what can be lost, and no card sits behind it.

cazeus.biz is an independent guide. It sells no vouchers, redeems none and holds no player funds.

How the voucher works

A paysafecard is bought for cash or by card at a retail point in Slovenia and issued as a code. In the cashier the code is entered instead of card or bank details, and the balance credits immediately. Nothing links the deposit to a bank instrument, which is the reason many players use it on a platform they are trying for the first time. It is also, quietly, the strongest deposit limit available, because a code cannot be topped up in a moment of enthusiasm the way a card can.

The corresponding weakness is absolute: nothing comes back this way. Vouchers move value in one direction only, so an account funded exclusively by them has no route for a payout. A card, a wallet or a bank transfer has to be registered before a withdrawal is requested, and adding one at that moment usually triggers additional checks precisely when a player is least inclined to wait. Registering the second method at the start avoids all of it.

What the voucher is good and bad at

Arguments for

  • Exposure is capped at the face value of the code
  • No card or IBAN is exposed to the platform
  • Bought in euros at ordinary retail points
  • Credits instantly, with no bank authentication step

Arguments against

  • Cannot receive a payout under any circumstances
  • Codes expire and may lose value to charges over time
  • Some promotions exclude voucher deposits
  • A lost or photographed code is effectively lost money

Handling a code sensibly

Nobody legitimate ever asks for a voucher code by message or phone. Requests of that kind are a well-worn fraud, and no operator's support process requires one.

The wider position

A prepaid deposit is still a deposit to a platform outside the Slovenian concession system. Cazeus holds no Slovenian concession, because an online concession can be granted only to a company established in Slovenia, in practice Loterija Slovenije and the Casino Portorož and HIT group. FURS supervises games of chance and orders the blocking of unlicensed domains, without recovering funds or arbitrating a dispute; that runs through the operator's own procedure described under complaints. Winnings from games of chance are taxable in Slovenia under rules published by FURS, and getting them out requires the second method described under withdrawals.

Common questions

Can a payout be sent to a paysafecard voucher?
No. A voucher is a one-way instrument: it funds an account and cannot receive anything back. A second method capable of accepting a payout has to be registered before a withdrawal can be requested at all.
Where are vouchers bought in Slovenia?
From ordinary retail outlets that sell prepaid codes, such as petrol stations, kiosks and some shops, as well as through the provider's own channels. The purchase is made in euros and the code is printed or issued at the point of sale.
What happens to the unused remainder of a code?
It stays on the code and can be spent later, and several codes can usually be combined to reach a larger amount. Vouchers do have an expiry and the provider may apply a maintenance charge over time, so an unused balance is worth spending rather than storing.
Does a voucher deposit avoid identity verification?
It does not. Verification attaches to the account, not to the payment, and documents will be requested before a first payout regardless. A voucher only keeps a bank instrument out of the platform's hands.
