Bet Types: What Each Market Really Asks You to Predict
Most betting mistakes are not bad opinions about sport. They are bets placed in markets whose structure the bettor had not examined.
An independent portal covering Cazeus. It offers no odds, accepts no bets and settles nothing.
Start by turning odds into probability
A decimal price is a statement about likelihood. Divide one by the price and you have the implied probability: 2.00 means fifty per cent, 4.00 means twenty-five, 1.25 means eighty. Do that for every outcome in a market and add the results, and the total will come to more than one hundred per cent. The surplus is the operator's margin, and it is the clearest measure of how expensive a market is. This calculation takes seconds and changes how a betting board looks, because the difference between a competitive market and a costly one is immediately visible.
The core markets
| Type | What it asks | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Single | One outcome, one stake | The cleanest bet available and the cheapest in margin terms |
| Accumulator | Several selections that must all land | The margin compounds with every leg added |
| System bet | Combinations that pay on partial success | More forgiving, but the total stake is larger than it looks |
| Handicap | One side given a head start | Half-goal lines exist precisely to remove the tie |
| Total | Whether scoring passes a line | Driven by pace and by team news, not by who wins |
| Live betting | A price that moves during play | Your feed arrives after the market has already repriced |
The accumulator problem
Combining selections is the most popular thing bettors do and the most expensive. Each leg carries the operator's margin, and multiplying the prices multiplies the margin along with the potential return. A four-fold does not cost four times as much in margin terms; it costs considerably more, which is why sportsbooks promote accumulators with such enthusiasm and offer bonuses attached to them. The offers are real, and they are also compensation for a structurally poor product. Where such a promotion carries conditions, they follow the pattern set out under bonus terms.
Handicaps and totals, briefly
A handicap exists to make an unbalanced contest bettable. Giving the favourite a deficit converts an unattractive short price into a genuine question, and quoting the line in halves guarantees a result rather than a refund. Totals move the question away from the winner altogether: in basketball they are governed by pace, in football by the tactical shape of a match, and in tennis by surface and serving quality. The sport-specific applications are covered under football, basketball and tennis.
Live betting and cash-out
Both features are designed to keep a bettor engaged. Live prices update constantly and always arrive at the market before they arrive on a broadcast feed, which means acting on what you have just seen is acting on stale information. Cash-out, meanwhile, is an offer to buy back a position at a price the operator sets with its own margin included; accepting it converts an uncertain position into a certain and slightly worse one. Neither is a scandal, and neither is an advantage. The safest use of both is sparing.
Before any of it
Bet types are the mechanics; the account is the context. Registration and verification are described under registration, funding and payout routes on the payments hub, and stake limits under responsible gambling. It bears repeating that Cazeus holds no Slovenian concession, since online concessions are granted only to companies established in Slovenia, in practice Loterija Slovenije and the Casino Portorož and HIT group. FURS supervises the sector and blocks unlicensed domains but does not settle disputes with foreign operators, which is why the procedure under complaints matters. Winnings from games of chance are taxable in Slovenia under rules published by FURS.
